The Football Association of Ireland has confirmed the venue for this year's FAI Cup final is 'under consideration' following Drogheda United's semi-final win over Bray Wanderers yesterday.
The Carlsberg sponsored cup final between Cork City and Drogheda United was due to be played in Tolka Park in Dublin on Sunday, December 4, but with a large crowd expected from both sides the 9,500 capacity may not be enough to cater for the expected demand.
Lansdowne Road has been the venue for FAI Cup finals in recent years and the RDS is also being considered. A spokesman for the FAI said that a decision on the cup final venue will be made in the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the kick-off time for next Monday's eircom League Premier Division clash between Bohemians and league leaders Cork City at Dalymount Park has been switched to 4.00pm from its original time of 7.45pm.
