Jason Byrne grabbed a hat-trick as Shelbourne ran out 4-2 winners against UCD in their eircom League Premier Division clash at Tolka Park.
Byrne opened the scoring after 14 minutes when he fired home a shot from the edge of the area.
UCD replied immediately when Anthony Murphy headed home a Stephen Hurley free-kick.
But Byrne grabbed a second in the 35th minute when he tapped home an Ollie Cahill cross before Patrick McWalter equalised again after a Damien Dupuy header had come back off the bar.
Byrne completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot with 17 minutes remaining after Stuart Byrne had been fouled before Owen Heary notched up a fourth with a header from a Bobby Ryan free.
