The Football Association of Ireland has said this month's World Cup qualifier against Israel will definitely go ahead in Tel Aviv.

Following a meeting with the Israeli Ambassador to Ireland, the FAI said its security concerns had been allayed. 

Doubt surrounded the fixture in the Israeli capital, following a suicide bomb attack there last week, however the game in Tel Aviv will now go ahead.

The FAI's acting chief executive, John Delaney said FIFA, world football's governing body, would continue to monitor the security situation, before the game on the 26th of March.

"We had a very positive meeting with the Ambassador today and while the situation continues to be monitored, we are proceeding with full plans for the matches in Israel", FAI Chief Executive Officer, John Delaney said.
