It has been announced tonight that Limerick FC will have a new 7,000-seater stadium within five years.
Meanwhile, new club owner Danny Drew has said that there will be a 600-seat stand in place at Hogan Park for the beginning of the new season where the club will play their home games.
Former Cork City assistant manager Noel O'Connor will take control of team affairs for the coming season. O'Connor was manager at Limerick before his move to Turner's Cross and lead the Shannonsiders to a League Cup win during his tenure.
Limerick are hoping for a return to the glory days of the '70s when massive home gates at the Market's Field, (their home from 1937 to 1984) were a regular occurrence.
