O'Driscoll named as Barbarians vice-captain

Brian O'Driscoll has been handed the role of Barbarians vice-captain for the upcoming series of games against Scotland, Wales and England.

O'Driscoll will play understudy to New Zealand international Taine Randell who has been appointed tour captain.

The tourists open the tour at Murrayfield on Saturday where French legend Thomas Castaignede will be part of the Barbarians team. Damien Traille of Montferrand and France will join the squad for the Wales and England matches. 

Geordan Murphy, Shane Horgan, Brian O'Driscoll and David Humphreys are the Irish backs selected, while Malcolm O'Kelly and Eric Miller will be vying for a place in the pack.
