Derry City and Galway United's financial wrangle over striker Alan Murphy was today resolved by an independent tribunal.
Derry intend to make the undisclosed payment, believed to be in between the clubs' respective valuations, straightaway to ensure Murphy would be registered in time to face Shelbourne in the eircom League Premier Division clash at The Brandywell on Saturday.
United, who were seeking €48,000 in compensation for last season's top goalscorer, said they were disappointed at the ruling. They also revealed that 10% of the fee would go to Ballinrobe FC, where Murphy began his career.
