Reyes moves will not affect Henry say Gunners

Arsenal have moved quickly to dismiss any speculation that star striker Thierry Henry could be sold in the wake of the €20million signing of young Spanish star Jose Antonio Reyes.

The signing of Reyes, who plays in a similar position to Henry, has fueled talk of a summer move for Henry to Real Madrid, but Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood, refuted any such suggestion and insisted that Reyes has been bought to play alongside Henry.

Speaking about Henry, he said: "No way is he going - to Real Madrid or anywhere else. That is definite and I don't think he wants to go. He is very well paid by us and though he could maybe earn more in Madrid, he loves both the club and his lifestyle here."

Henry himself has always sought to distance himself from talk about him moving away from Highbury and on several occasions has claimed that he would be happy to stay with the Gunners for the rest of his career.

Meanwhile Hill-Wood also denied that the signing of Reyes would in any way affect Arsenal's plans to build a new stadium and said: "We have an amount for transfer fees in our budget and it won't affect the ground one bit. What we have done is use the bulk in this transfer window rather than wait to the end of the season."
