Bohs' Kenny banned from Longford cup clash

Longford Town's former manager, Stephen Kenny, has been stopped by the High Court from having any involvement in Bohemians' preparation for their FAI Cup clash with Longford, at Flancare Park, tomorrow. He's also restrained from attending the match except as a spectator. Stephen Kenny moved from Longford to Bohemians a week ago.

In Court, Longford Town argued that Kenny's involvement with Bohemians in tomorrow's crunch match, would give the league and cup winners an unfair advantage. Longford Town say Kenny has been a tremendous asset to the club's development and he is completely familiar with their tactics, formation and strategy. His near presence at a game they say, would be of inestimable value to the Gypsies.

The Court heard that Stephen Kenny had been absolutely tremendous, but Longford Town claim he breached his contract, an allegation that Kenny denies. This matter will have to be argued before the courts in January. Mr Justice Kearns said the balance of convenience lies in favour of the restraining Stephen Kenny from involvement in tomorrow's match.
