Henderson to join Munster

Wasps centre Rob Henderson has become the latest player to return to Ireland having signed a three-year contract with Munster. The Irish Rugby Football Union announced the 21 times capped player would take his place with the Heineken European Cup semi-finalists at the end of the season.

The IRFU have made it clear that they are keen to have the bulk of the Irish squad based in the country to enhance preparations ahead of the 2003 World Cup. Munster manager Jerry Holland, speaking to PA Sport, confirmed: "We approached Rob Henderson during the season having been made aware his contract with Wasps was coming to an end. We are delighted he has successfully concluded his arrangements with the Union and look forward to having Rob in our squad."

Yesterday, Munster were boosted by the news that influential scrum-half Peter Stringer should be fit for the European Cup semi-final clash with Stade Francais in Lille on April 21st.
