FAI criticised for eircom Park proposals

The news, which claims the FAI is "at serious risk of overexposing itself", is the latest in a catalogue of attacks that have plagued the Bernard O'Byrne led project over the past twelve months,
Dr John Tunnicliffe, a former chief executive of the Rugby Football League, voiced his opinions in a report commissioned by the makers of RTÉ's Prime Time programme, which was aired last night. He questions a variety of claims made in the document, which is to be replaced by a revised version at Monday's board of management meeting in Dublin.
Many of the projections made in the report have been slammed as "unrealistic" and "highly presumptuous", with Dr Tunnicliffe suggesting the FAI could put itself at serious financial risk with its potentially "disastrous" estimations. Of the criticisms he makes, the Englishman claims the staging of 57 events annually was "unrealistic", while the FAI's failure to study the impact Stadium Ireland will have on the venue has also inspired surprise.
