Robbie Keane is in danger of missing Leeds United’s trip to Manchester City tomorrow, after picking up a knee injury in the FA Cup third round victory over Barnsley last weekend. That could leave manager David O’Leary without two of his first choice strikers as partner Mark Viduka is also struggling to overcome a bout of flu.
The Dubliner had been hoping to get his Premiership season back on track with victory over lowly City, who have found life in the top flight a little uncomfortable since their return. Gary Kelly also misses the game with the knee injury that kept him out of Saturday’s 1-0 win, but with Harry Kewell ruled out with a calf problem, O’Leary is left with just England youngster Alan Smith as the only recognised striker available.
Alan Maybury returns to the squad, but left-back Ian Harte is set to remain on the bench with Dominic Matteo preferred, while Lee Bowyer returns in midfield following a one game suspension.
