Two arrested after Limerick shooting

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Co Limerick earlier today.

A 26-year-old man received a number of pellet wound injuries when he was shot at in his car at the railway line in Ahane.

It is understood his injuries are not serious and he is being treated at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The men were arrested in the Castletroy area of Limerick and are being questioned at Henry Street Garda Station.

Gardaí believe the shooting is connected to a local dispute between a number of parties in the Castleconnell area and is not connected to the wider gangland feud in Limerick.

The area has been sealed off for a forensic examination and gardaí at Henry Street are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
