New HBO drama Westworld finally arrives on Sky Atlantic, while fluffy drama The Catch begins on RTÉ2
Pick of the day
Westworld, 9.00pm, Sky Atlantic
There are several new or returning shows tonight - Kevin McGahern's America being one of three on RTÉ2 - but hype dictates that this is the big one.
Its US debut on HBO last Sunday attracted an audience 50% higher than their mega-hit Game of Thrones managed, but whether the show cam maintain or improve that level of interest is another matter.
Based on the 1973 film of the same name and set in the near future, Westworld is a hedonistic theme park set in the Wild West. Synthetic hosts, indistinguishable from human beings, indulge visitors' every desire and dream. But there's a nightmare on the horizon.
The impressive cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden and Evan Rachel Wood.

Freaks and Geeks, Netflix
James Franco, Sth Rogan, Jason Segel and Linda Cardellini all gained early success in their careers in this Judd Apatow-produced teen comedy-drama that was great but only lasted one season back at the turn of the Millennium.
Set in 1980, teens Lindsay Weir (Cardellini) and her younger brother Sam (John Francis Daley) attend William McKinley High School in Chippewa, Michigan. Lindsay's friends constitute the 'freaks' while Sam's are the 'geeks'.
Seriously, this is one of the great shows that you've probably never seen or even heard of, so do yourself a favour.

Today's Guilty Pleasure
The Catch, 10.30pm, RTÉ2
Frothy doesn't even come close to describing this far-fetched fluff drama that's all about high-end thievery and deception.
Mireille Enos plays Alice Vaughan, LA’s top private investigator and the type of woman you don’t want to mess with.
Somehow, she gets conned by her fiance Benjamin Jones (Peter Krause), but when she tries to find him, she inexplicably finds her heart ruling her head.
