After intense roles in The Fall, Fifty Shades of Grey and the just-released Anthropoid, Jamie Dornan is set to lighten up a little for his next project, the comedy-drama Untogether.

Dornan will play a successful author who has an affair with Girls star Jemima Kirke's character, a former heroin addict who is trying to become a writer.

In some inspired casting, Kirke's onscreen sister will be played by her real-life sibling, Mozart in the Jungle's Lola Kirke. US trade daily Variety reports that Untogether will mark the first time the Kirkes have appeared in the same movie.

Writer-director Emma Forrest will make her feature directorial debut on the film, which goes into production on October 17.

Dornan's new film Anthropoid is now in cinemas. Directed by Metro Manila filmmaker Sean Ellis and co-starring Cillian Murphy, it tells the true story of Operation Anthropoid - the mission to kill SS head Reinhard Heydrich, known as "The Butcher of Prague", and right-hand man to Heinrich Himmler and Adolf Hitler.

Dornan and Murphy play the real life Jan Kubis and Josef Gabcík, the soldiers from Czechoslovakia's army-in-exile who were sent to assassinate the Nazi general.

Anthropoid is the second film starring Dornan to open this month: the chiller The 9th Life of Louis Drax opened last Friday.

Later this month, another Dornan-starring film, The Siege of Jadotville, is released. Directed by Dubliner Richie Smyth, it tells the true story of the 150 Irish UN troops under the command of Commandant Pat Quinlan (Dornan) who were attacked by forces loyal to Katangese Prime Minister Moise Tshombe in the Congo in September 1961. The film opens in Irish cinemas on September 19 and premieres worldwide on Netflix on October 7.
