With Amy Schumer in town for her first major stand-up show in Dublin's 3Arena, we take a look at why Ireland (and the whole world) loves the straight-talking comedy star.
We've rounded up just a few of the reasons why she's struck a chord with audiences worldwide with her irrepressible brand of comedy.
She's not afraid to tackle serious issues
After a fatal shooting took place at a screening of her film Trainwreck in Louisiana in 2015, Amy Schumer became an advocate for stricter gun control laws and increased mental health funding.
At first she baulked at the idea of being a celebrity speaking out on political issues, but when she realised that people might listen to her rather than politicians, she took full advantage of the platform fame has given her.
In one of her latest Inside Amy Schumer sketches she tackles the gun market's lack of rules and regulations showing just how easy it is to obtain a weapon in the US.
She's best pals with her sister
Amy is completely inseparable from her youngest sibling Kim Caramele and they are giving us serious sister goals. Not only are they best pals, they are also colleagues, and Kim serves as a writer and associate producer on the brilliant Comedy Central sketch show Inside Amy Schumer and is also her road manager to boot.
Kim was reluctant at first to give up her job as a school psychologist to work for her big sister's show, but has since then gone on to become an indispensable member of the writing staff, and working together has even brought them closer. Too. Cute.
She supports body positivity
Amy has never been afraid to riff on body image in her comedy, famously saying "I'm probably like 160lbs right now and I can catch a d**k any time I want" when she picked up a Glamour award last year. One of her best-ever sketches, Last F****able Day, deals with how Hollywood treats women and she regularly speaks out against the impossible beauty standards women feel they have to conform to.
This week, her message of body positivity came to the fore when she shared a side-by-side image of her nearly-nude Annie Leibovitz portrait along with a sculpture of the Greek goddess Aphrodite.
It was originally shared by a psychology student who couldn't help but notice the similarities between them, posting the message: "So many women and young girls are shamed by the media and fashion industry for not having a flat stomach and not being a size zero. But look, the goddess of beauty is portrayed here with stomach rolls and doesn't have a perfectly smooth, toned body. I want to remind everyone that they do not have to be a Victoria's Secret model to be a beautiful goddess with a beautiful body. Your body is not bad, ugly, or wrong. Embrace your inner goddess."
As ever, Amy was quick to support the body positive message and shared the image, saying "Thanks for posting this!"
She loves Ireland
Amy Schumer was in Ireland last year promoting her movie Trainwreck, which she wrote and starred in and is well worth a watch, and she had a blast while she was over here.
She and the film's director Judd Apatow managed to squeeze in a sing-song with The Frames singer Glen Hansard in Grogan's pub, and even gate-crashed a wedding and at the movie's Irish premiere she was singing the praises of the fair city.
She's unashamedly goofy
In a world where our Instagram feeds are being clogged up by heavily filtered, picture-perfect selfies and aspirational lifestyle shots, Amy is a much-needed breath of fresh air.
Her photos are always look completely "real" and not like they've been orchestrated by an entire PR team. Here are just a few of our favourite recent posts!
