Love Me Again singer John Newman has confirmed that his brain tumour has returned but has vowed to continue making music.

In 2012, Newman discovered that he had a non-cancerous brain tumour after experiencing problems with his eyesight. The tumour was subsequently removed by doctors through his nose.

Following a report in British tabloid The Sun about his health, Newman confirmed to entertainment website Digital Spy that the tumour had returned. He stressed that the prognosis is good and that there are "so many people in far more serious situations".

"This was going to come out at some point and it's probably best it's out in the open now," he said.

"There was always a chance that it could return and it is unfortunate but it is something I am prepared to get through when the time is right, some point next year."

The 26-year-old paid tribute to the medical staff who have been monitoring him since 2012 and said he is in "the best of hands".

"Nothing will ever stop me from doing the job I love so much, nothing will ever stop me from making music," he continued.

Newman told fans not to worry and said he hopes his story will raise awareness and encourage people to undergo tests if they have concerns.

"I am one of the lucky ones!" he concluded.

Newman shot to fame when he featured on drum and bass act Rudimental's 2012 tracks Not Giving In and Feel the Love, the latter reached the top of the UK charts while he was recovering from surgery.

His debut solo single, Love Me Again, which was released in 2012 was a number one hit in the UK and made it to number three in Ireland and has so far clocked up almost 450 million views on Vevo.

His second album Revolve was released back in October and he recently teamed up with Sigala and Nile Rogers to lend his distinctive vocals for the summer anthem Give Me Your Love.
