A US filmmaker Matthew Fulks has filed a lawsuit against Beyoncé and her record company over the promotional video for her new album.
Fulks claims the promo for Lemonade features a number of images strikingly similar to those he used for his movie short Palinoia, which he released in 2014.
He claimed the trailer, which has clocked up over 10 million views so far, copied many of the aspects of his indie film. Legal papers say the similarities include “graffiti and persons with heads down,” “red persons with eyes obscured,” “parking garage,” “black and white eyes,” “side-lit ominous figures" and "over-grown grass".

Fulks also says his film detailed a "tumultuous relationship" - just like the one Beyonce details in Lemonade, and alleges a record executive at Beyonce's label, Columbia Music, viewed Palinoia in 2015, and then lifted ideas for the singer's project, when filming began last year.
Fulks is seeking damages as well as a percentage of Lemonade‘s sales. Beyoncé's representatives have yet to respond to the accusations.
