Scarlett Johansson and Sean Penn have reportedly split up.
A source told People magazine that they have ended their relationship, although the reason for the split is unknown.
Speculation about their romance being in trouble began when Johansson did not attend the Cannes Film Festival with Penn last month, where he was promoting his new film 'Tree of Life'.
Johansson and Penn are said to have started dating in February, shortly after the actress broke up with her husband Ryan Reynolds.
They made their first public appearance together at the wedding of Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth in March, and were spotted at a number of public engagements together, including a White House Correspondents' Dinner Party in April.
Representatives for the couple have declined to comment.
