Crowds on the quays of Dublin and other vantage points near the Clarence Hotel where U2 are to record 'Beautiful Day' for the BBC programme 'Top of the Pops'.

The band arrive at the Clarence Hotel in the rain Bono jokes with reporter Colm Connolly that it is not a beautiful day but it is a beautiful song. Bono explains that U2 could not make it to a recording of 'Top of the Pops' but invited the BBC to film in Dublin.

Unable to attend a recording of the BBC programme 'Top of the Pops' U2 are filmed playing 'Beautiful Day' on the roof of the Clarence Hotel in Dublin. This recording was then shown on 'Top of the Pops'.
