    Saint Patrick came to symbolise the conversion of the whole of Ireland to the Christian faith. The many legends which now hang from his name are discussed by primary school kids in this clip from the programme 'St. Patrick was a Gentleman'.

    The boys and girls discuss: what they know about St. Patrick; where he came from; what he looked like; and the kind of person he was.

    'Saint Patrick was a Gentleman' was a film documentary on the life and legends of Saint Patrick. The film included dramatic re-enactments of Saint Patrick as he travelled Ireland spreading Christianity.

    Liam de Paor was the scriptwriter for the film and also the presenter. Actor, Bosco Hogan acted as Saint Patrick.
