The 'Lark by the Lee' began in 1985 with a surprise performance by U2. A look back at 'The Lark' in 1989 when over 15,000 people turned out for a free open air concert by the River Lee in Cork city.

The event was organised by RTÉ 2FM and Cork 89FM Radio.

All the bands performing at the event are from Cork and include Burning Embers, the Belsonic Sounds and Princes Street. Also in attendance to entertain the crowd is Cork native and 2FM regular Terence, alias John Creedon.
