In this clip from the programme Seamus Heaney reads his poem 'Bogland' from the collection 'Door Into the Dark' and then explains his 'curious and sustained interest in bogs' as Aindreas Ó Gallchóir puts it.  Heaney describes the bog as 'a feminine, goddess ridden ground'.

Broadcast as part of the ‘Writer in Profile’ series in 1976, the programme is presented by Aindreas Ó Gallchóir. This programme was broadcast on 23 August 1976.
