Robert Finnerty broke Sligo hearts as the full-forward's palmed goal in second-half stoppage time sent holders Galway through to the Connacht decider. The game’s only goal, which left two points between the sides, 1-13 to 0-14, was created by Damien Comer, Galway’s super sub who was needed to pull this game from the fire as Sligo, excellent for most of this well-contested semi-final, looked good value for a big win.
