New Munster signing Jason Jenkins could make his debut in this Sunday's United Rugby Championship meeting with the Scarlets in Llanelli (live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player).

The South African, who can play at lock and in the back row, has returned to full training after missing the opening URC wins against the Stormers and the Sharks due to a shoulder injury.

Jenkin joined from Japanese side Toyota Verblitz, while the 25-year-old previously played for the Bulls in his native South Africa.

The province have no further injuries to contend with following Saturday's bonus point win against the Stormers at Thomond Park.

Roman Salanoa (knee), Liam O'Connor (neck) and Chris Farrell (abdomen) all remain sidelined, while prop James French is following the return to play protocols for a concussion.

Back row John Hodnett came through his return from a 10 month injury layoff when he featured for UCC in their All-Ireland league meeting with Terenure College on Saturday.

The former Ireland U20 star had been sidelined since November 2020 when he suffered an achilles injury.
