Roger Federer turned in a stunning performance to breeze into the third round of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
The top seed barely worked up a sweat in the hot conditions as he demolished Florian Mayer 6-1 6-4 6-0 in just 72 minutes at the Rod Laver Arena.
Federer wasted no time as he launched into a first-set assault, breaking the German twice to take control.
The world number one was made to work a little harder in the second set as Mayer began to find some form.
And Federer was even forced to save a break point in the fourth game before bouncing back to break his opponent's next service game and take the set.
The third set then turned into a one-sided affair as the Swiss ace sent down another barrage of winners.
Federer got off the blocks early in the third, breaking Mayer's opening service and not allowing to German to hold in the set.
