Britain yet again face relegation from the World Group of the Davis Cup after they were beaten 3-0 by Australia in Sydney. Lleyton Hewitt and Todd Woodbridge beat Arvind Parmar and Miles Maclagan 6-1 6-3 4-6 6-2 in Saturday's doubles rubber to wrap up victory in the first round tie with a day to spare.
It means the Australians will play either Sweden away or Brazil at home in the quarter-finals of the competition while Britain face a relegation play-off in September if they are to save their spot in the elite 16-nation world group.
