Bree sets new Irish record

Andrew Bree set a new Irish record in the 200 metres breaststroke at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Antwerp, Belgium today. Bree’s time of 2:11.30 minutes beat Gary O’Toole’s 11-year-old record by .05 seconds, improving his own best by 1.5 seconds. Bree was placed 10th overall with the top eight making the final tonight.

Michael Williamson swam in the same race, finishing 13th in 2.13.08. Williamson made the final in Valencia last year in a time of 2.15 last year, two seconds slower than today's.
