Sligo Rovers striker Owen Elding looks set to join Scottish Premiership side Hibernian in the next 48 hours.
The Bit O' Red are understood to have accepted an undisclosed six-figure offer for the 19-year-old, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in the SSE Men’s Premier Division in 2025.
The financial package could rise to seven figures if performance-related add-ons are achieved, while there is a sell-on fee to benefit Sligo if Elding leaves Hibs in the future.
Elding scored 12 goals in the 2025 league campaign and was named PFAI Young Player of the Year.
The striker also won the goal of the season award for a stunning strike against Bohemians.
Eligibility issues have prevented a call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad, with manager Jim Crawford keen to have the teenager involved for the last number of windows.
He is the son of Englishman Anthony Elding, who scored the winning goal in the 2013 FAI Cup final for Sligo.
The family have remained in Ireland since, with citizenship in process for Owen, which will allow him to feature for the Boys in Green in the future.
Sligo sold current Republic of Ireland international Johnny Kenny to Celtic in 2022, while Seamus Coleman famously joined Everton from The Showgrounds and went on to become captain of his country.
Elding could make his Hibs debut against Rangers on Sunday.
