Transfer latest: Wolves reject Spurs' Traore bid, Saints sign Adam O'Reilly from Preston

Tottenham are keen to bring in Adama Traore.
Tottenham are keen to bring in Adama Traore.

Wolves have rejected Tottenham's £15m offer for Adama Traore.

Boss Antonio Conte wants the wideman this month but Spurs' bid has been rebuffed, it's understood.

Traore has 18 months left on his deal at Molineux and has been unable to agree a new contract despite around 12 months of talks.

Wolves are hoping for £20m for the former Barcelona youngster, who cost a then club-record £18m from Middlesbrough in 2018.

Conte is reportedly keen to use Spain international Traore as a wing-back, echoing the success he had with Victor Moses at Chelsea.

The Italian wants to make his own mark at Tottenham after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who also wanted to take his former Molineux star to London, in November.

Traore scored his first goal since May in Saturday's 3-1 win over Southampton but has come under fire for a lack of end product throughout his career.

He has scored just 10 goals in 152 appearances for Wolves and boss Bruno Lage has refused to offer assurances the 25-year-old would stay at Molineux.

He said: "I know nothing about it, but what is the most important thing in the world of football? It has to be good for the club and good for the player. I'm happy with my forwards. But you never know."

Republic of Ireland underage international Adam O'Reilly has completed a loan move to St Patrick's Athletic from Preston North End.

The former Ringmahon Rangers man made his debut for Preston three years ago, aged 17, in a Championship clash against Aston Villa but injuries have hampered his progress.

O'Reilly has had loan spells at Hyde United, Stalybridge Celtic and Bamber Bridge. He spent the first half of last season with Waterford.

The 20-year-old trained with his new St Pat's teammates on Thursday morning, and could make his first appearance for the club in Friday's pre-season game against Bohemians.

"I'm delighted to have joined such a massive club," he said. "I've got some experience in the league already [with Waterford] and played against St Pat's. The team did so well last year, winning the cup and finishing second in the league, so I'm really excited to be here."

The Saints have also added defender Tom Grivosti to the ranks. He arrives on a permanent transfer from Scottish Premier League side Ross County.

The Liverpudlian had been on loan in Scottish League Two with Elgin City for the first half of this season, where he made 13 appearances.

Grivosti, 22, began his career at the Bolton Wanderers' Academy before moving to Scotland and joining Ross County in 2017, where he won the Scottish Championship title and the Scottish Challenge Cup in the 2018-2019 season.

"I came over and had a look around the club and met the gaffer [Tim Clancy]" he said. "I was really impressed and happy to get things sorted.

"Everyone has been very welcoming, I've heard a lot about the League of Ireland and I know we've got some big Dublin derbies at the start of the season so I can't wait to be involved."

Finn Harps have landed striker Yoyo Mahdy [pictured above] from Shelbourne.

The highly rated 24-year-old played a key role in Shels' 2021 First Division-winning campaign after beginning his League of Ireland career with UCD.

"I’m really excited to be joining the club," he told FinnHarps.ie. "Ollie [Horgan] got in touch and we’d a good chat about his ambitions for the club and his plans for me and where I fit in.

"A big reason I wanted to come to Harps is they’re an established Premier Division club at this stage, with some great players, a passionate fanbase and it’s really exciting to be a part of it."

Celtic have signed midfielder Matt O'Riley from MK Dons, the Scottish Premiership club have announced.

The 21-year-old Englishman has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Parkhead outfit after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

The Fulham youth product moves after making 52 appearances for the League One Dons and scoring nine goals, including seven this season.

O'Riley told Celtic TV: "It feels amazing. The first time taking the stadium in was even better than I thought it would be.

"To put it simply, I am really happy to be here. It's a massive club and I'm really excited to get going.

"There were other options, ones I thought were the only ones, until Celtic came out of the blue.

"I had a phone call with (manager) Ange (Postecoglou) and he came across really well. As soon as I got off the phone I was ready to come."
