Republic of Ireland striker Troy Parrott got on the scoresheet for MK Dons but his side slipped to a 2-1 loss at home to Sunderland in League One on Saturday.

The 19-year-old Tottenham loanee scored with a left-footed shot on 58 minutes from the edge of the area to pull one back for the third-tier club.

But it came too late for Dons after Ross Stewart and Elliot Embleton had netted earlier for Sunderland either side of the break.

Parrott, who has two goals in six Ireland caps, signed for the League One club on loan from Spurs at the end of July, making his league debut in a 3-3 draw with Bolton last weekend.

Meanwhile, in the second-tier Championship, Ireland forward Callum Robinson found the net for the second time this season as West Brom gave their hopes of mounting a promotion challenge an early boost when beating Luton 3-2.

Luton's Kal Naismith put through his own goal to give the Baggies the early ascendancy before further goals by Robinson and Karlan Grant.
