Republic of Ireland under-21 manager Jim Crawford has called up three replacements to his squad for Friday's friendly with Wales.

Midfielder Luca Connell, goalkeeper Sam Blair and forward Ethon Varian come into the 22-man squad, replacing Conor Coventry, Dan Rose and Ademipo Odubeko who aren’t available for the Irish Sea derby.

Coventry was called up to Stephen Kenny's senior squad yesterday, while Covid-19 restrictions means Rose, who plays with Shalke 04 in Germany, is unable to travel.

Odubeko meanwhile is set to remain with West Ham as he looks to regain his fitness following his return from injury.
