Waterford FC have announced the signing of former Republic of Ireland U19 international Adam O'Reilly on loan from Preston North End until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old Cork midfielder signed for Preston North End in 2018, making his league debut for the club against Aston Villa in December 2018, being introduced as a substitute for his compatriot Graham Burke.

O'Reilly has since gone on loan deals to Hyde United and Stalybridge Celtic. He has represented Republic of Ireland at both U17 and U19 level.

Speaking to WaterfordFC.ie, manager Kevin Sheedy said: "Adam is a great addition to the team already in place.

"We're delighted to have him here and I think he’ll be someone that stands out over the coming weeks."

Yesterday, Waterford FC announced the signing of Welsh underage international Cameron Evans on loan from Swansea.
