Burnley manager Sean Dyche expects to be without several players for the visit of Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday, with Republic of Ireland midfielder Robbie Brady among those emerging as potential doubts.

The Dubliner is among a number of players including Charlie Taylor, Ashley Barnes and Josh Brownhill who have a variety of knocks, while striker Chris Wood was brought off with a knock in Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea with the extent of the problem still unknown.

"We've still got a few who are touch and go," Dyche said.

"These are important players to us so we'll have to see how it works out this week. I don't think any of them are major (injuries). We'll just wait on a bit more news but it's another three-game week and it's hard to think they'll make those games."

Monday's Transfer Deadline Day passed without any new signings at Turf Moor, but Dyche said that was not a problem as far as he was concerned.

"The only challenge we have is an ongoing injury list and unfortunately a few have struck again," he said.

"When the squad is fit we're competitive both in-house and in the games we play.

"We were trying to add to it if we could but the usual stuff comes around. It was one of the lowest markets in years so it's not just us.

"We believe in what we've got."
