Republic of Ireland striker Adam Idah is set to be sidelined for 10 weeks with a knee ligament injury, Norwich City have confirmed.

The Cork native started the recent friendly defeat to England as well as the UEFA Nations League loss to Wales in Cardiff last Sunday.

However, injury ruled the 19-year-old out of Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Bulgaria at the Aviva Stadium, Ireland's final fixture of the Nations League campaign, and he is now set for an extended spell on the sidelines potentially until late January or early February.

Ireland's qualification campaign for the 2022 FIFA World Cup is due to begin next March, with the group draw to be made on 7 December.

Stephen Kenny's side will be in pot three for the draw in Zurich.
