Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia have appointed former Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy as their new manager on a one and-a-half year contract.
McCarthy had been working in punditry since his second stint as Ireland manager came to an amicable end in April as Stephen Kenny succeeded him following the one-year delay to Euro 2020.
The 28-time league champions were in search of a new manager after Marinos Ouzonidis last week became the ninth head coach to leave the club since 2017.
APOEL are 10th in the Cypriot top flight after two wins, three losses and three draws in their first eight games of the season.
Terry Connor will join McCarthy in Cyprus as assistant on the deal to run until May 2022.
