Slovakia have parted ways with their manager Pavel Hapal despite reaching the Euro 2020 play-off decider after beating Republic of Ireland in the semi-final in Bratislava.

The Slovak side drew 0-0 with Stephen Kenny's team after 120 minutes of play on 8 October before winning on penalties.

They are due to face Northern Ireland for a place at next summer's delayed finals tournament on 12 November at Windsor Park.

But Hapal will not be in charge for that fixture as the Slovakian FA announced his departure following Wednesday 3-2 defeat to Israel in the UEFA Nations League which left them bottom of the group.

Hapal had been in charge of the Slovak senior team since 2018, having previously managed the Under-21s.
