Dundalk will begin their Europa League Group B campaign against Molde of Norway at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday 22 October, before making a trip to the Emirates seven days later to take on Arsenal.

Filippo Giovagnoli's men came through their play-off against Faroese side KÍ Klaksvik at the Aviva on Thursday night and were rewarded by being drawn in a group that offers them two swings at one of Europe's biggest clubs.

The Gunners come to Dublin two weeks before Christmas, with Dundalk facing back-to-back clashes with Rapid Vienna and a trip to Norway to meet Molde before that.

Dundalk chairman Bill Hulsizer has confirmed that Giovagnoli will be offered the job on a full-time basis after guiding the Co Louth side to the group stages.

The Italian was a shock appointment as Vinny Perth's successor just 39 days ago but has confounded all his critics by guiding the Lilywhites to qualifier wins away to Inter Club d'Escalades of Andorra and Sheriff Tiraspol of Moldova, as well as the play-off defeat of KÍ.

"I certainly can't find fault with anything that he has done to date," said Hulsizer. "I think his decision making has been superb."
