Waterford FC have confirmed that a player has received a negative test result for Covid-19.
The player was the first of two to report symptoms of the disease.
Waterford FC say the player is still feeling unwell.
A second player is awaiting a result and the club will remain shutdown until they receive the outcome of that test.
The Blues are due to play Cork City on Saturday at the RSC.
The test comes a day after the Waterford FC club doctor Sinead Fitzpatrick resigned from her position.
The Blues' scheduled Premier Divison game against Sligo Rovers on Tuesday evening was postponed when it emerged on Monday that a player at the club was undergoing testing after reporting symptoms.
