Just hours after being named in an extended Republic of Ireland squad for the first time, striker Troy Parrott scored twice and was taken off with a leg injury for Tottenham's Under-23 team.
Spurs beat Manchester City 3-1 in Premier League 2 with the former Belvedere man curling home the opener nine minutes before the break.
The 17-year-old, who had tweeted that the call-up for next month's game against Switzerland was a "dream come true", then added a penalty before suffering what appeared to be a dead leg following a collision with a City defender.
Former Shamrock Rovers goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu started for the Man City academy team.

Mick McCarthy earlier named a 40-man squad for the Euro 2020 European Qualifier against the Swiss on 5 September and commented: "If Troy Parrott gets into the Spurs team in the next few games, he will have to be considered for the final squad."
Parrott featured in a number of pre-season friendlies for the Champions League finalists including games against Juventus and Real Madrid.
