Swansea appear to be closing in on Fernando Llorente with the Spain striker's club Sevilla suggesting a move is imminent.
The former Athletic Bilbao and Juventus forward has been targeted by the Swans as they seek to fill the void left by the summer departures of Eder, Alberto Paloschi and Bafetimbi Gomis.
The 31-year-old won three Serie A titles with Juventus and the Europa League with Sevilla last year, and has scored nearly 130 goals in his senior career.
But it is understood his game-time will be limited under new boss Jorge Sampaoli this season, and Sevilla's sporting director Monchi confirmed that negotiations for Llorente's transfer have made good progress.
"It has come a long way with the English club (Swansea) to reach an agreement, we expect to hear in the coming days," Monchi told the official Sevilla website.
Spanish media reports said on Tuesday that Llorente had agreed personal terms with Swansea and that the 24-times capped striker only had to tie up the loose ends of his Sevilla contract.
Nathan Dyer, a Premeir League winner on loan at Leicester last season, has signed a new four-year contract with Swansea.
The 28-year-old winger joined the club from Southampton in 2009 and made 12 appearances while at Leicester last season.
Dyer, who had one year left on his previous contract, is the second Swansea player to commit to the club in as many days with Gylfi Sigurdsson also signing a new four-year deal.
Mohamed Salah has joined Roma from Chelsea on a permanent deal, the Premier League club have announced.
The Egypt winger spent last season on loan at the Serie A club and the Blues confirmed that a deal has been struck to allow him to remain in the Italian capital.
Salah joined Chelsea in January 2014 - after impressing against them with Basle - but failed to pin down a permanent place before he was loaned out to Fiorentina and then Roma.
Leicester have signed Poland international winger Bartosz Kapustka.
The 19-year-old has joined the Premier League champions from Cracovia in his homeland, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.
Claudio Ranieri's side are currently in Stokholm where they will play Barcelona on Wednesday night in the International Champions Cup and Kapustka has linked up with his new team mates in the Swedish capital.
Kapustka made over 60 appearances for Cracovia, with his displays leading to an international debut for Poland in September 2015 when he came on as a substitute against Gibraltar.
He was part of the Poland squad at this summer's European Championships in France and produced an impressive display in the opening group game against Northern Ireland.
Kapustka is the fifth new arrival at the King Power Stadium during the close season following the arrivals of Luis Hernandez, Ron-Robert Zieler, Papy Mendy and Ahmed Musa.
New Everton manager Ronald Koeman has completed the signing of his first outfield player after Idrissa Gueye joined the club from Aston Villa.
The Toffees triggered the Senegal international's £7.1million buyout clause last week and the 26-year-old has agreed a four-year deal at Goodison Park.
Gueye is Koeman's second signing since he took over from the sacked Roberto Martinez in mid-June, having brought in Maarten Stekelenburg from Fulham.
"Idrissa will provide quality in our squad in the midfield and we want to increase the quality in the team," said Koeman.
"He was one of the players last season with the best record in interceptions and pressing in the midfield. We need this kind of quality and I'm happy to have him joining our club."
Gueye was second only to Leicester's Premier League-winning midfielder N'Golo Kante in terms of the number of combined interceptions and tackles made across Europe's top five leagues.
He moved to Villa from Lille last summer and made 38 appearances in all competitions as Villa were relegated from the Premier League.
Koeman could well be thwarted in a move for Swansea captain Ashley Williams, though.
Williams was understood to be on the verge of making a £10million move from Swansea, but on Tuesday night a City spokesman said: "We are not looking to sell him, and therefore we have turned down the offer currently on the table."
Elsewhere, David Moyes has handed trials to midfielders Steven Pienaar and Charles N'Zogbia as he looks to bolster his Sunderland squad before the start of the season.
