Segunda Division side Mirandes stunned Deportivo 3-0 at the Municipal de Riazor to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey with a 4-1 aggregate victory.

Deportivo coach Victor Sanchez made sweeping changes for a second-leg tie from which the top-flight side were expected to progress, and he paid the price as Mirandes went into half-time ahead through a 41st-minute goal from midfielder Dani Provencio.

A 55th-minute free-kick from former Mallorca forward Abdon Prats made it 2-0 just after the restart, with a second by Provencio securing a famous victory for the Burgos club, who reached the semi-finals of the competition in 2012.

In Tuesday night's other tie, there was no such trouble for Sevilla as they beat city rivals Real Betis 4-0 victory at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and progressed 6-0 on aggregate.

Unai Emery's side were already in control of the tie following an away win in the first leg.
An early goal from captain Jose Antonio Reyes put pay to any hopes of a fightback, with defender Adil Rami adding a second before half-time.

Substitutes Kevin Gameiro and Gael Kakuta both scored to complete the route over Betis, who had sacked head coach Pepe Mel following Saturday's 1-0 Primera Division defeat at Getafe which left them five points above the relegation zone.
