Yaya Toure's agent has claimed Pep Guardiola is over-rated as a manager.
And Dimitri Seluk also admitted his concern that Guardiola would look to get rid of his 32-year-old client should he take over at Manchester City.
The Bayern Munich boss, who is favourite to take over from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season after revealing he wants to work in the Premier League, sold Toure when the pair were at Barcelona.
"Pep is a great coach. But he has won the title at Barcelona and Bayern Munich,” said Seluk.
"The truth is that my grandfather would win the title with Barcelona and Bayern Munich because they are big clubs with great players.
"I'd like to see Pep take a club that is eighth or ninth and make them champions."
Guardiola sold Toure to City in 2010, the Ivorian not fitting into his plans for Barcelona.
Seluk added: "I don't know what Guardiola's plans are, but - after what happened at Barcelona - of course it is a worry that when he comes Yaya will be out.
"I hope not and Yaya hopes not."
Seluk has been outspoken about Toure before, claiming during the summer that he was ’90 per cent certain’ to leave City before the start of the current season.
In 2014 he also said that Toure was on his way out of the Etihad Stadium after City chiefs failed to get his client a birthday cake.
"Yaya will look after himself, and let Africa look after itself. Like I'm often told, you shouldn't worry too much about Africa, because Africa will be the first to let you down." - Yaya Toure
“Yaya is so upset, he is thinking of leaving City,” Seluk said at the time.
“There are a number of things that have happened that have left Yaya feeling bitterly upset. City have treated him with disrespect and have really hurt him.
“What happened at his birthday meant the club don’t care about him. It was proof. They can say whatever they want, ‘Oh we like him, but we forgot.’
“None of them shook his hand on his birthday. It’s really sick.”

More recently Toure vented his anger when he was overlooked as African Player of the Year for 2015 after leading Ivory Coast to the Cup of Nations title in January.
He came second in the voting behind Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
"Yaya will look after himself, and let Africa look after itself. Like I'm often told, you shouldn't worry too much about Africa, because Africa will be the first to let you down."
