The Republic of Ireland have risen two places to joint-50th in the latest FIFA world rankings.

Martin O'Neill's side share that mark with the Cape Verde Island after an unbeaten first half of 2015, which included draws against Poland, Scotland and England.

The Boys in Green face the concluding series of games in their flagging Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with clashes against Gibraltar, Georgia, Germany and Poland over the next two months.

Wales have climbed to ninth place, their highest ever position. Chris Coleman's men, who are unbeaten in Euro qualifying, are ranked above the likes of Spain, Holland and Chile and just one below England.

Argentina retained the number one ranking, with Belgium replacing Germany in second.

Scotland are ranked 32nd, with Northern Ireland 40th.
