Jeff Hendrick has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad to face Sweden and Austria next month because of injury.
Hendrick sustained an ankle injury with his club Derby County in Saturday's win over Yeovil Town.
He has had a scan but may need further tests to discover the full extent of the problem and will see a specialist on Friday.
There are no plans at present to add a replacement, according to the FAI.
