Marco Tardelli has insisted that Shay Given is 100% fit for the Republic of Ireland's opening Euro 2012 Group C game with Croatia.
The assistant manager was speaking after this morning's training session in Gdynia.
However, the Aston Villa goalkeeper only took a limited part in training and was not involved in the end-of-session practice match.
"Today Shay rests because he knows his body. I think he is ready to play," said Tardelli.
"Everything is good. He decide to walk sometime yes and sometime no because he knows."
Tardelli also said there are no fresh injury worries ahead of Sunday's game.
He told reporters: "You saw in the training that the players play very well. They run and are happy. After the match against Hungary they feel well.
"I think in this moment we have ups and downs, but that is normal. Because the other teams have a problem in their preparation and we have a little problem."
The squad will depart their base for Poznan on Saturday morning.
In response to questions about yesterday's day off for the players, Tardelli insisted that it was not prompted by complaints from some of the players about tiredness.
He said: "We decide sometimes if it is better to do training or not because we have a feeling that it was better to stay off. All the decision depends on the boss.
"The players need to recover after the tough seasons and every day we will have the training in the morning until the match."
Meanwhile, Croatia suffered another injury blow when it was revealed that Hamburg midfielder Ivo Ilicevic is out of the tournament with a calf injury. 20-year-old Sime Vrsaljko has been called up in his place.
