Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta left hospital to join up with his team-mates in Santander after being treated for a severe bout of food poisoning.

While the Barcelona star will not play in today's warm-up match with the United States, team doctors said he should be fit enough to take part in Spain's first Euro 2008 match against Russia on 10 June in Innsbruck.

Iniesta is making a good recovery after he was struck down having eaten something bad on Sunday, and being taken to hospital overnight on Monday when his state deteriorated. Iniesta should be able to resume light training tomorrow.

The succession of injury and illness problems means that Spain coach Luis Aragones may decide to include midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Primera Liga top scorer Daniel Guiza in the starting line-up against the US.

Spain, who are seeking to emulate the 1964 team in winning the European crown, will also play Sweden on 14 June, also in Innsbruck, and titleholders Greece on 18 June in Salzburg.
