Molloy and Motherwell part company

Could Trevor Molloy be on his way back to St Patrick's?
Could Trevor Molloy be on his way back to St Patrick's?

Irish winger Trevor Molloy is searching for a new club after he parted company with Scottish Premier League outfit Motherwell.

Molloy and Motherwell came to a mutual agreement to terminate the player's contract after he was told he no longer features in manager Mark McGhee's plans.

Molloy joined the Scottish side from St Patrick's Athletic in January but his time in Motherwell was blighted by injury and he made just seven appearances for the club.

The Irish winger is one of a select band of players to have played for the 'big four' of Dublin, spending time at Shamrock Rovers, St Patrick's, Bohemians and Shelbourne.

His status as a free agent is certain to pique the interest of several eircom League clubs, but as the season nears an end here, he may have to look elsewhere in the meanwhile.
