West Ham have announced pre-tax profits for the year finishing 31 May of £6million - an £11million turnaround.

The figures were driven by a successful return to the Barclays Premiership, helped by the increased television revenues that brings, plus a run to the FA Cup final.

In 2004-5, the season West Ham won promotion back to the top-flight via the play-offs, they recorded a pre-tax loss of £5.1million.

But West Ham's turnover doubled from £31.8million to £60.1million and that helped their operating profit, before player trading, rocket from a £1.9million loss to a £13.4million profit.

West Ham are the subject of a potential takeover bid from a consortium led by Iranian-born businessman Kia Joorabchian.
