Liverpool's Harry Kewell has admitted that today's FA Cup clash with Manchester United will be a grudge match following the Red’s 1-0 controversial defeat at Old Trafford last month.

In a game in which they were second best, Rio Ferdinand sealed victory for United with a header in the last minute but it was Gary Neville's provocative celebrations in front of the Liverpool fans that became the real flashpoint.

The teams meet again in the fifth round at Anfield in the latest instalment of a fierce rivalry.

Kewell told the Daily Mail: “To us it's even more important to put one over them because when we played at Old Trafford last month a few things happened that made us feel hard done by....as well as other things which took place which a lot of people weren't happy with.

The Australia international also criticised Neville's actions, saying:  “I don't know his full background, he probably goes way back as a United fan and fair enough.

“Each to their own I suppose, but players like that appeal for calm around the game and then go and do something and fire the whole thing back up. They only have themselves to blame,” he added.
