The English FA have launched an inquiry into comments attributed to Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech following his side's 2-2 Premiership draw at Arsenal.

Graham Poll allowed Gunners striker Thierry Henry to take a quick free-kick which caught Cech off guard and led to the visitors going 2-1 behind on Sunday.

The 22-year-old was reported to have told website idnes.cz: "We could have won. The referee presented Arsenal with a goal. It was shocking."

A statement from the FA today read: "The FA can confirm that it is pursuing inquiries into media comments attributed to Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech about referee Graham Poll following his team's match at Arsenal on Sunday December 12."
